About the Hospital

  • The Air Forces General Hospital, one of the medical edifices of the Armed Forces, is honored to
    provide medical service for military patients, their families and civilians according to the latest
    health care standards by using the latest diagnostic, curative and surgical equipment and
    technologies under the supervision of an elite specialized doctors and consultants in all general
    and sub-specialty medical fields, achieving the highest levels of precision and safety for patients
    following the latest methods of management. The hospital aims to provide a special health care
    to get the satisfaction and confidence of the patients (military and civilians).
  • The Reception and Emergency Department operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
  • Experts are recruited in all specialties and they are announced in advance.


History

  • The medical service began in an outpatient clinic at Almaza Military Airport in 1939.
  • In 1945, the medical department of the Royal Air Force was formed, with a capacity of 80 beds.
  • In 1956, the Air Force Medical Service moved to the French Hospital in Abbasiya in Abdo Pasha Square, with a capacity of 300 beds.
  • In 1974, work began in the new General Air Hospital, and it was equipped with the latest international medical systems.
  • In 1988, work began at the General Air Hospital, after developing it with a capacity of 600 beds.
  • In 2018, the facilities of the General Air Hospital were developed (buildings and medical equipment).


Location and Capabilities

  • The Air forces General hospital is located at the heart of Cairo in Ahmed Saed Street - Alabbasya, which is an easily accessible location through the public transportation network from all areas and neighborhoods of Cairo.
  • With the ability to perform all types of advanced surgeries including cardiac catheterization, cerebral catheterization and vascular catheterization, besides different care unit with different specialties such as (Cardiac Care Unit - Burn Care Unit - Brain and Neurological Care Unit - Cardiac Care Unit - Intensive Care Unit with Negative Air-pressure) .
